FAQs

  • Absolutely not. We strongly believe DCMVC is for everyone, and that everyone can learn to sing.

We may do a quick vocal range check to see which of our four sections suits you best.

  • Also nope. We take pride in helping all our members improve their music reading and understanding.

All our members have access to online learning materials, and we note-bash all our songs at rehearsals. It’s amazing what you can pick up.

  • A full season costs £120 per member, but we are a registered charity and if you cannot afford this let us know. If you join during the season the cost is pro-rata’d and payment can also be made in installments.

  • Your yearly subscription includes copies of all the music we sing, weekly rehearsals with the choir and music team, ability to come to our concerts and events, access to the member’s section of the website (which has practice materials and other interesting things). In your first year you will also receive a concert folder, tie and pin.

  • For formal concerts we wear dark/black suits, light blue tie and lapel pin (provided).

For less formal events we might wear choir branded polo shirts with dark/black trousers.

At Christmas a festive jumper is encouraged.

  • There are no obligations on attendance at rehearsal or at concerts. Just make as many as you feel comfortable with.

Our only requirement is a positive attitude (and even then…)

  • You can find examples of our singing on this site, on Facebook and Youtube.

We sing an even mix between classical/traditional male voice choir pieces and more contemporary and unusual numbers. So something for everyone!
